Net-30 Vendors Compared
Uline, Quill, Grainger, and Summa Office — side by side, so you know which to open first and why.
Side-by-Side Comparison
| Vendor | Min Order | Reports To | Approval | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Uline | $50 | D&B, Experian | Easy | Shipping supplies you already buy |
| Quill | $45 | D&B | Very Easy | Your very first account |
| Grainger | $75 | D&B | Easy | Credit depth beyond office supply lines |
| Summa Office | $60 | D&B, Experian | Easy | Dual-bureau reporting in one account |
Why the Order You Open These In Matters
Bureaus weight a mix of trade lines more favorably than several nearly-identical ones opened the same week. Quill first, because it has the lowest minimum and the friendliest approval for a business with zero history. Uline second, since shipping supplies are something you're buying anyway. Then Grainger and Summa once you have two positive trade lines reporting, spacing each application by a week or two rather than applying to all four at once.
Single-Bureau vs. Dual-Bureau Reporting
Uline and Summa report to both Dun & Bradstreet and Experian Business; Quill and Grainger report to D&B only. That doesn't make Quill or Grainger worse — a strong D&B file with a PAYDEX score is often enough to qualify for your first business credit card — but if a lender specifically pulls Experian Business, a dual-reporting account gets you there faster.
💡 Don't Buy What You Don't Need
Every vendor here sells products e-commerce sellers actually use — shipping supplies, industrial and safety gear, office furniture. Order what you'd buy anyway, just over the minimum to trigger reporting. The credit building is a side effect of a normal purchase, not a separate expense.
